The Ultimate Guide for Music in Thanksgiving

Music in Thanksgiving is music to your ears. For most of us, Thanksgiving is a day that brings us together for an occasion of joy, peace, thankfulness, and happiness, which transcends all boundaries regardless of our background, ethnicity, beliefs or religion.

November 22, 2017

But think about it, looking at the current state of society and the world as a whole community, in what other instance can we all share the same space and unite as one without putting ‘ideals’ and dogmas that separates us? The answer believes it or not is Music.

Music unites, connects and reconnects, brings forth a unique and very articulate language of beauty, energy, love, passion, emotion, and sincerity. And what better time to bring music as an introduction to the holiday season than in such a unique occasion as it is Thanksgiving?

Whether you play an instrument or listen to music on a regular basis, there is no denying that music is enjoyable by everyone, and it just seems to be the perfect complement to what some consider the most important holiday of the year.

We have put together a small list of 11 different ways you can bring the joy of music and add that special touch to your Thanksgiving.

1- Live Music

Odds are at least someone in the family, or a friend in your party plays a musical instrument. Bring an instrument, play, sing and enjoy together!

2- Karaoke

Most likely someone in your family or one of your friends owns a karaoke machine, get ready to sing and laugh, isn’t Music supposed to be fun?

3- Spotify curated lists

From Top Hits to current trending music, this lists can help you match your mood and find precisely what you are looking for and strike a chord!

4- Apple Music curated lists

Very similar to Spotify, Apple Music will create customized lists based on the type of music and artists you like. A great way to get the groove going without the hassle of continually searching music to play.

5- Pandora

Whether you want a personalized radio station or a curated playlists, Pandora will bring hours of entertainment to match every scenario.

6- Radio Stations

If you still own a radio or happen to have online access (who doesn’t these days anyway?), then just turn it on and find the radio station to match your moment. After all, Radio is still the most popular outlet for listening to music.

7- Youtube Music Channel

Discover great music and add a musical background to your party while you watch videos on a screen. YouTube music channels is a great alternative to music on Radio or TV.

8- TV and online Music Videos

If you have cable or a TV app subscription package, then you probably have access to the impressive world of music videos. From VEVO and MTV to much more than offer the latest and not so new in music videos.

9- Concert on TV or DVD/Blue-Ray

It’s always enjoyable to watch a concert on TV, there’s something about watching the actual musicians on TV that changes the perspective when listening to music, sometimes for the best and sometimes for the worst. You can play a concert on a DVD or Blue-Ray player, or if you don’t own a show in such media, then a TV Channel like MTV Live (formerly known as Palladia) will do the trick.

10- Play an Album/Record

From Vinyl to cassettes, from CD’s to MP3’s, the music storage and playback format has drastically changed with technology, yet Vinyl records remains a favorite among many, perhaps is Nostalgia? No matter what record or music player you have, as long as it plays music, it will always be a valid one.

11- Traditional party singing

Some save this for last when the spirits are high, and the stakes are low, sing aloud your favorite tunes, from old Folk and Irish favorites to modern hit songs. I promise you won’t be the only one singing.

I love how Marcos lets me learn so many songs, not just one! I like how he gives me compliments. It’s really fun when Marcos does the bass clef with the left hand and I get to make up my own song that goes with it for a warm up. It’s fun because I get to make up my own songs. I love the sound of the piano!

I really like that we get to pick what songs we want to learn in Marcos’s guitar class. I also love that he is compassionate and lets us progress at our own pace. Marcos knows EVERYTHING about instruments, and I’m glad he can share some of it with me. I’m glad that I get to learn how to read, write, and play music for the guitar. It is a lot of fun when Marcos and I play the guitar together!

Both of my children love their music lessons with Marcos. They look forward to their music lessons each week and come home eager to practice their new pieces. I especially love that he teaches them to compose their own pieces and inspires their musical creativity. Marcos is always positive and encouraging with my children, and he has a knack for bringing out their best. I highly recommend 123 Rock to anyone looking for a music teacher!
