Space is silent. In the vacuum beyond our atmosphere, sound doesn’t travel  yet music has found a way to transcend that silence. From symbolic gestures to psychological tools, music has quietly become an integral part of how we experience and humanize space exploration. It connects us to home, expresses our cultural identity, and even travels farther than any spacecraft we’ve built. -Friday, August 22 The Voyager Golden Record: Humanity’s First Musical Message to the Cosmos In 1977, NASA launched Voyager […]

No guitar? No piano? No problem.   You don’t need a full studio setup, a fancy keyboard, or even a single string to start writing songs. Whether you’re just starting out or don’t have access to your usual gear, you can still tap into your creativity — no instruments required.   -Wednesday, June 11th   Start […]

Because sometimes your ears can change what your tongue tastes. Picture this: you’re at a fancy dinner. The lights are low, candles flickering, and a delicate dessert is placed in front of you. A smooth jazz tune plays softly in the background. You take a bite — perfection. Now imagine eating that same dessert… while blasting industrial metal. Tastes different, right? That’s not your imagination. Music can actually affect how food tastes. And it’s not just about the vibe or […]

Listening to your favorite song through headphones or speakers can certainly evoke emotions, but there’s something completely unique about experiencing that same music live. The energy, the unpredictability, the crowd, and the artist’s connection with the audience all come together to create an emotional experience that is difficult to replicate through a recording. I love how Marcos lets me learn so many songs, not just one! I like how he gives me compliments. It’s really fun when Marcos does the bass clef with the left hand and I get to make up my own song that goes with it for a warm up. It’s fun because I get to make up my own songs. I love the sound of the piano!

I really like that we get to pick what songs we want to learn in Marcos’s guitar class. I also love that he is compassionate and lets us progress at our own pace. Marcos knows EVERYTHING about instruments, and I’m glad he can share some of it with me. I’m glad that I get to learn how to read, write, and play music for the guitar. It is a lot of fun when Marcos and I play the guitar together!

I highly recommend 123 Rock to anyone looking for a music teacher!

Both of my children love their music lessons with Marcos. They look forward to their music lessons each week and come home eager to practice their new pieces. I especially love that he teaches them to compose their own pieces and inspires their musical creativity. Marcos is always positive and encouraging with my children, and he has a knack for bringing out their best. I highly recommend 123 Rock to anyone looking for a music teacher!
